Ok, I know I’m violating a couple of cardinal rules but I’m erasing everything and starting over. That’s right, it’s all gone.
I think there’s good reason for doing so though. I started this thing over at onekidney.com almost 4 years ago back during my freelancing days, at that point it was a series of drawings and random links to the various projects I was doing. Posting slowed considerably once I got a job at Liberty, then Trax, and as of late Global Learning Systems and the posts were really not of the highest quality – I’m not really sure of the quality at all. Either way, it blazed a trail of unfinished projects and what seemed like never-ending lulls.
I can’t promise the lulls will go away but there some things I’d really like to change:
1. The negativity: I had used the old blog to vent some frustration here and there – hey, it’s easy right? Isn’t that what the world needs? Another technology blog complaining about something that nobody else cares about? Yeah, I decided to answer that with a resounding “no.” I’m aiming to have this be a more positive blog – one that isn’t really concerned with slamming people for being human but rather bringing something positive to the internet (for a change – and no I haven’t figured out what “positive means yet”.)
2. The unfinished: Scouring through the archive would bring forth a handful of projects and hints of stuff that I was working on that would never actually materalize – I found this to be A. bad and B. annoying.
3. The drawings and the code just didn’t seem as relevent anymore – this isn’t to say that there won’t be drawings and code on this site – just not old stuff! It all just seemed cobbled up there so I’m hoping to bring some order to it…
And there are some things I’d like to do:
1. More code. Not that I’m any genius and by “any genius” I mean a “compotent professional” but I do like to post code – I think it’s a great exercise and definetley a decent way to become a better programmer.
2. More drawings.
That’s it? Maybe more personality? I dunno, I guess we’ll see where it goes. That’s all that is going on here…
My vote is for a webcomic!
A webcomic would be cool.
